The man most directly responsible for this twaddle was Steve Wood, who did
thus comment on Day of the week anyone? on the night of 01-Oct-97:
-> all,
-> I be looking for a bit of help. I am writing a diary but need to be able
-> to validate a given date and return the day of the week the date falls (or
-> fell) on. The date validation I have been able to do, including leap
-> years, but not the day of the week.
The AMCAF extension supports this function fully, as well as the month, day
and
year. I use it for my Mailinglist Manager program to store categorized
mails/postings by their date.
